Delhi Traders Close Shops in Grief Over Pahalgam Attack

Delhi Traders Observe Bandh to Honor Pahalgam Victims
Traders in Delhi are shutting down their businesses tomorrow, April 25th, to pay their respects to the 26 people killed in the tragic terrorist attack in Pahalgam earlier this week.
The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT), a major group representing traders across the country, is leading the call for a one-day ‘bandh,’ which means closure. They want to show solidarity with the victims and their families as well as with the government.
CAIT Secretary General Praveen Khandelwal emphasized that this isn’t a protest, but a way to honor the memory of those who lost their lives. He urged traders to keep things peaceful and safe during the shutdown.
This isn’t the only place showing support. Trader associations in Jammu and Kashmir also held protests and marches on Wednesday, condemning the attack and Pakistan’s role in supporting terrorism.
Mohammad Iqbal, a trader from Kulgam in Kashmir, said the attack was a blow to the region’s economy, which relies heavily on tourism. He expressed sadness over the killings and the impact it will have on local businesses.
