Kerala YouTuber Faces Arrest Over Sexist Remarks

A popular Kerala YouTuber known as Arattannan has been arrested for allegedly making sexist remarks about a female actor online. Santhosh Varkey, whose real name is Santhosh Varkey, is known for his outspoken and often controversial comments about films, especially on the first day they’re released.

He often films himself outside theatres, sharing his immediate thoughts on the movies, which sometimes leads to clashes with film crews. This time, though, his words landed him in serious trouble. An actor filed a complaint against him for making sexist remarks online, leading to his arrest.

The police say they have charged him with non-bailable offences, meaning he’ll have to stay in custody until a judge decides on his bail. This arrest highlights the growing concern about online harassment and the potential consequences of making derogatory remarks towards women in public spaces.
