Andaz Apna Apna’ Re-Release: Salman Khan’s Idea, Explained

Salman Khan’s Idea for ‘Andaz Apna Apna’ Returns!
Remember the iconic Bollywood movie ‘Andaz Apna Apna’? Well, it’s back on the big screen! The classic film, starring Aamir Khan and Salman Khan, had a re-release on April 25th, and it’s got everyone talking. But did you know Salman Khan actually played a big part in making this happen?
Vinay Sinha’s daughter, who worked with Salman on the film ‘Ready,’ recently shared a fascinating story about how the re-release came about. During a chat, she mentioned the idea of a sequel to the beloved film. Salman, however, wasn’t so keen on that.
According to her, Salman said, “Don’t even talk about a sequel! Who knows how much anyone would get paid? You won’t get anything, and I won’t get anything either.” He suggested focusing on a re-release first, saying, “Master it properly and do it in Dolby. Back then, it only had mono sound.”
Vinay Sinha, the film’s original producer, agreed with Salman’s suggestion. That’s how the re-release came to be, and it involved a lot of work to bring the film back to life in stunning 4K resolution with Dolby sound.
Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, ‘Andaz Apna Apna’ originally premiered in 1994 and quickly became a cult classic. With its hilarious characters and iconic scenes, it’s no surprise that fans are thrilled to see it back on the big screen.
