Maharashtra Amps Up Green Energy: High-Capacity Power Lines Coming to Palghar

Maharashtra Goes Green: High-Capacity Power Lines Planned for Palghar
The Maharashtra government is on a mission to modernize its power grid and boost the state’s green energy initiatives. As part of this plan, high-capacity power transmission lines are being developed in Palghar district, a move aimed at facilitating the import of renewable energy from other states.
Streamlining the Process for Faster Implementation
District Collector Dr. Indurani Jakhar recently led a meeting with top officials from various departments, including revenue, forest, land records, agriculture, and police. The meeting focused on reviewing ongoing projects, tackling any roadblocks, and improving communication between different agencies.
Dr. Jakhar emphasized the importance of swift action, urging departments to speed up land surveys, finalize compensation rates, and expedite approvals under the Forest Rights Act (FRA). To ensure smooth execution, she appointed Deputy Collector (Rehabilitation) Tejas Chavan as the project’s nodal officer, making him the central point of contact for both public and private stakeholders.
Renewable Energy: A Key Part of Maharashtra’s Future
“Maharashtra is prioritizing the development of high-capacity transmission lines to facilitate the import of renewable energy from other states,” said Dr. Jakhar. “This is a crucial step in our commitment to clean energy, reducing carbon emissions, and making electricity more affordable for consumers.”
This initiative aligns with Maharashtra’s broader energy policy, which aims to increase the use of renewable resources, combat climate change, and ensure a dependable and cost-effective power supply for the entire state.
