Pant in Hot Water After LSG’s Slow Over Rate
It’s not been a great week for Rishabh Pant. After his team, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), suffered a loss to Mumbai Indians (MI), the star wicketkeeper-batter has now been hit with a hefty fine. The BCCI penalized Pant Rs 24 lakh for LSG’s second over-rate offence of the season.
This isn’t just a slap on the wrist—it’s a serious consequence. According to Article 2.22 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct, teams are penalized for slow over rates. Since this is LSG’s second offense, Pant has to pay the hefty fine.
The IPL released a statement confirming the fine: ‘As this was his team’s second offence of the season under Article 2.22 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct, which pertains to minimum over-rate offences, Pant was fined INR 24 lakhs,’
