President Trump expressed deep concern on Friday about the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza, stating that ‘a lot of people are starving’ under the ongoing Israeli blockade.

Speaking in the United Arab Emirates, the final stop on his Middle East tour, Trump acknowledged the suffering in Gaza and vowed that the United States would step in to help. ‘We’re going to handle a couple of situations that you have here,’ he said. ‘We’re looking at Gaza, and we got to get that taken care of. A lot of people are starving. A lot of people. There’s a lot of bad things going on,’ Trump stated.

Growing Fears of Famine

Aid organizations have been sounding the alarm for months, warning that the population of Gaza is teetering on the brink of famine. The situation has become increasingly perilous due to the Israeli blockade, which has severely restricted the flow of essential supplies into the territory. Even some Israeli military officials have privately voiced their concerns about the risk of starvation in Gaza, 19 months after the war there began.

Escalating Violence

Adding to the urgency of the situation, Israel has intensified its military campaign in Gaza in recent days. On Friday alone, Israeli airstrikes resulted in the deaths of over 100 people, according to Gaza’s health ministry. The day before, Israeli bombardment forced the closure of one of Gaza’s main hospitals, further straining the already fragile healthcare system.
