Three Orleans Parish Jail Escapees Recaptured
Louisiana State Police successfully recaptured three inmates who escaped from the Orleans Justice Center complex early Friday morning.
Helicopter Transport and Secure Facility
Photos released by the LSP on Saturday (May 17) show the three inmates, Kendell Myles, Robert Moody, and Dkenan Dennis, being transported out of New Orleans by helicopter. The LSP declined to reveal the destination, stating only that their air support and SWAT divisions worked together to safely move the inmates to a secure state correctional facility outside the immediate area. A source reportedly told Fox 8 that the inmates were being taken to the Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola.
One Inmate Exhibits Hostile Behavior
During the transfer, one of the three inmates, whose identity was not released, reportedly displayed hostile behavior. Troopers had to use a spit hood to ensure their safety and the safety of others involved in the transport.
Ongoing Search for Remaining Escapees
The Louisiana State Police emphasized that the search for the remaining seven escapees is still underway. They urge anyone with information about their whereabouts to contact Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111, the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI, or 911.
