Bruce Springsteen didn’t hold back during his recent concert in Manchester, UK. The legendary rocker took aim at President Trump, delivering a series of passionate speeches throughout the show, blasting the administration as “corrupt, incompetent, and treasonous.”

It all started before Springsteen’s iconic song “Land of Hope and Dreams.” He told the crowd, ‘The mighty E Street Band is here tonight to call upon the righteous power of art, of music, of rock ‘n’ roll in dangerous times. In my home, the America I love, the America I’ve written about, that has been a beacon of hope and liberty for 250 years is currently in the hands of a corrupt, incompetent and treasonous administration. Tonight we ask all who believe in democracy and the best of our American experiment to rise with us, raise your voices against authoritarianism and let freedom ring!’

Springsteen wasn’t done there. According to reports, he continued to criticize Trump later in the concert, both before a solo rendition of “House of a Thousand Guitars” and before his song “My City of Ruins.” He spoke about the importance of people standing up for their values in the face of authoritarianism and condemned the Trump administration for its actions, including its treatment of immigrants, free speech, and its abandonment of American allies.

Springsteen concluded his impassioned speech with a message of hope, quoting the great American writer James Baldwin: ‘In this world there isn’t as much humanity as one would like, but there’s enough.’ He said, ‘Let’s pray.'”

This isn’t the first time Springsteen has publicly criticized Trump. He was a vocal opponent of Trump during his first term in office, famously saying in 2019, ‘He doesn’t have a grasp of the deep meaning of what it means to be an American.’
