Hyderabad: Xiaomi has made a significant leap in the tech world by unveiling its first indigenous flagship processor, the Xiaomi XRING O1, in China. The announcement came alongside the launch of the Xiaomi 15S Pro smartphone and the Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra tablet, both powered by this impressive new chip. The company also took the opportunity to showcase a range of IoT devices and another homegrown chipset, the XRING T1.

A Powerful Processor with Impressive Specs

The XRING O1 is a major milestone for Xiaomi, marking a move towards self-reliance in crucial components. Built on TSMC’s second-generation 3nm N3E process, this powerful chipset boasts 19 billion transistors. Its 10-core CPU cluster is a powerhouse, featuring 2x Cortex-X925 prime cores clocked at 3.9GHz, 6x Cortex-A725 performance cores running between 1.9GHz and 3.4GHz, and 2x Cortex-A520 efficiency cores clocked at 1.8GHz. The XRING O1 also includes a 16-core ARM Immortalis-G925 GPU and a 6-core NPU, capable of handling advanced AI processing at a rate of 44 TOPS.

Benchmarks Show Impressive Performance

Xiaomi claims the XRING O1 achieved over 3 million points on the AnTuTu benchmark, outperforming Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. In Geekbench 6, the processor scored an impressive 3,000 single-core points and 9,000 multi-core points, even edging out Apple’s A18 Pro in multi-core performance.

Efficiency and Cutting-Edge Features

The XRING O1 doesn’t just focus on raw power; it prioritizes efficiency as well. A new cooling design, featuring four dynamic low-power modes and a dedicated micro-control unit, helps keep things cool and power consumption in check. The chipset also supports the latest technologies, including LPDDR5T RAM, UFS 4.1 storage, USB 3.2 Gen2 connectivity, Wi-Fi 7, and a custom 3-core Xiaomi ISP.
