Urgent Update: Indian iPhone & iPad Users at Risk! Government Issues High-Risk Warning

Government Issues Urgent Warning for iPhone and iPad Users in India
If you’re an iPhone or iPad user in India, pay close attention! The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) has issued a high-risk warning about a serious security flaw that could affect older versions of iOS and iPadOS.
What’s the Threat?
The vulnerability stems from a system called Darwin notifications, which allows different parts of the device to communicate. According to CERT-In, malicious apps, even those without special permissions, could exploit this system to send harmful commands, potentially crashing your device and rendering it unusable. In severe cases, your device might even be “bricked,” meaning it’s permanently damaged.
This flaw affects versions of iOS and iPadOS prior to iOS 18.3 and iPadOS 17.3.
What Can You Do?
The good news is that Apple has already released updates to fix this issue. CERT-In urges all iPhone and iPad users in India to update their devices immediately to the latest software version. You can easily do this by going to your device’s settings.
Apple typically doesn’t disclose details about security flaws until a fix is available. The company also reminds users to be cautious about downloading apps from untrusted sources and to watch for any suspicious activity on their devices, such as frequent app crashes, rapid battery drain, or unexpected heating.
Staying Safe
This warning comes after a recent alert from Apple about potential spyware attacks targeting users worldwide. Some users even received direct messages from Apple warning them of being targeted.
In short, if you’re using an iPhone or iPad in India, updating your device right away is crucial for your security.
