Mark your calendars, Pokémon trainers! This May, Pokémon GO is celebrating Community Day with the electric-type wonder, Pawmi.
The event kicks off on May 11, 2025, from 2 pm to 5 pm local time. Get ready for a flurry of Pawmi encounters, boosted shiny odds, and a special new move for its evolved form, Pawmot.
Pawmi’s Shiny Debut and a Powerful New Move
The highlight of this Community Day is the shiny debut of Pawmi. 💫 Trainers will have a boosted 1-in-25 chance of finding a shimmering variant of this adorable Pokémon.
But that’s not all! If you evolve Pawmo during the event (from 2 pm to 10 pm local time on May 11th), your Pawmot will learn the powerful move Brick Break. This move can be a game-changer in Trainer Battles, Gyms, and Raids, so don’t miss out!
Community Day Bonuses: A Week of Electric Excitement
The fun doesn’t stop after the main event. Pokémon GO has a plethora of bonuses in store for Community Day, lasting throughout the day and even extending into the following week:
- Evolved Pawmot with Brick Break: Evolve Pawmo during the event to get a Pawmot that knows the exclusive move Brick Break.
- Limited-Time Evolution Requirement: You can evolve Pawmo into Pawmot after walking just 1km with it as your buddy. This bonus remains active until 10 pm local time on May 18th.
- 1/4 Hatch Distance for Eggs: Hatch your Eggs four times faster during the event period.
- Double Candy for Catching: Catch more Pokémon and earn double the Candy.
- Double Candy XL Chance: Trainers level 31 and above have a doubled chance of receiving Candy XL from catches.
- Lure and Incense Duration: Lure Modules and Incense (excluding Daily Adventure Incense) will last for three hours.
- Surprise Snapshots: Take a few snapshots during the event for a surprise encounter.
- Extra Special Trade: Make one additional Special Trade (for a total of two) with a reduced Stardust cost.

- Team Up: Gather your friends for a more fun and productive Community Day experience. More trainers mean more spawns and better chances of finding shinies and hundos.
- Mega Evolve: If you have a Level 3 Mega like Primal Kyogre, Mega Ampharos, or Mega Manectric, Mega Evolve it to boost your Candy gain.
- Hatch Those Eggs: The 1/4 Egg hatch distance is a fantastic opportunity to clear out your Egg inventory.
- Secure Your Brick Break Pawmot: Don’t miss the chance to get a Pawmot with the exclusive move Brick Break. This could prove valuable in the future.
Community Day Resources
In addition to the main event, there will be themed Field Research, a paid Special Research quest, and a free Timed Research quest. Completing these quests will reward you with Pawmi encounters featuring the Might and Mastery background.
