After years of waiting, Rockstar Games has finally confirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) is coming next year! This highly anticipated sequel marks a significant gap since the release of GTA 5 back in 2013.

Release Date and Platforms

Rockstar has announced that GTA 6 will launch on May 26, 2026, for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Sadly, there’s no word yet on a PC version, and it won’t be available on older consoles like the PS4 or Xbox One.

Characters and Story

Get ready to meet Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval, GTA 6’s dual protagonists. We first see Lucia being released from prison in the second trailer, and the duo is set to become a crime-fighting team, drawing comparisons to the infamous Bonnie and Clyde. Rockstar has also teased other intriguing characters, including Cal Hampton (Jason’s friend), Boobie Ike (a local Vice City legend), and Dre’Quan Priest (a music producer who’s gone rogue).

Gameplay and Mechanics

While Rockstar hasn’t released full gameplay footage yet, leaks suggest some exciting new features. Get ready for stealth mechanics, allowing you to crawl and move silently, and even carry bodies. The trailers offer glimpses of dynamic action scenes, chases, and heists, promising an incredibly immersive experience.

Map and Locations

GTA 6 takes place in the fictional state of Leonida, which includes the beloved Vice City. This time around, Vice City gets a modern makeover, with a sprawling map inspired by Miami. Rockstar has introduced us to several key locations, including Grassrivers, Leonida Keys, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia, and Mount Kalaga National Park, promising a mix of rural towns, swamps, and tropical islands. Based on leaks and trailer comparisons, it looks like GTA 6 will have the biggest map in the series!

Price

Rockstar hasn’t officially announced the price for GTA 6, but based on previous releases and rumors, we can expect something in the range of $70-$100 for the standard edition. Special editions and collector’s items are likely to be more expensive.

With Rockstar taking its time to develop GTA 6, expectations are incredibly high. If the trailers and leaks are anything to go by, GTA 6 could be a truly groundbreaking experience for open-world gaming!
