Skipper Axar Patel Gets a Friendly Greeting From Dinesh Karthik

Axar Patel, the captain of the Delhi Capitals, had a heartwarming encounter with his former teammate Dinesh Karthik before their crucial IPL 2025 match against the Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Axar was practicing in the nets when Dinesh Karthik, the current batting coach for RCB, spotted him. He walked over to greet his former teammate. Axar, ever the polite captain, stopped batting and went to greet Karthik.

This gesture, though well-intentioned, made Karthik a little embarrassed. He playfully chided Axar, telling him to focus on his captaincy duties and not be distracted.

Karthik even joked that he avoids the nets because of players like Axar who like to chat! The exchange shows the friendly camaraderie between the two players, even though they are now on opposing sides.

Axar has been leading the Delhi Capitals with aplomb this season, currently holding the second spot in the points table. He’ll be hoping for another strong performance from his team against RCB.

Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals opener Jake Fraser-McGurk had nothing but praise for Axar’s captaincy. He described Axar as a natural leader who keeps the team relaxed and positive. Fraser-McGurk also highlighted Axar’s ability to connect with his players on a personal level, making him a captain everyone wants to follow.
