Shami Misses England Test Series Due to Fitness Concerns

Mohammed Shami’s absence from India’s squad for the upcoming England Test series has been explained by chief selector Ajit Agarkar. Shami unfortunately wasn’t able to regain full fitness within the limited time frame leading up to the tour.

Difficult Decision for Team Management

Agarkar revealed that the team management had hoped Shami could be available for at least some of the matches against England. However, with his fitness uncertain, they realized it would be unwise to delay his inclusion and risk disrupting the team’s preparation.

“It’s quite unfortunate because the team always wants to pick such a bowler,” Agarkar admitted, highlighting the obvious disappointment of missing out on a key player like Shami.
