Shami Out? Arshdeep Could Surprise in India’s Test Squad for England

The squad announcement is set for May 24th, with head coach Gautam Gambhir and chief selector Ajit Agarkar revealing the team in Mumbai.

While many predicted changes in the batting lineup, the whispers in the cricket world are all about the pace attack. Veteran pacer Mohammed Shami might be surprisingly excluded from the squad for the five-match Test series in England.

Instead, rising star Arshdeep Singh, who shone in the recent T20 World Cup, could earn a place in the Test team. Despite performing well in the IPL, bowling only four overs per game, the board believes he might struggle to deliver more than 10 overs in a day. This concern seems to be pushing the selectors towards Arshdeep, whose swing bowling could be a valuable asset in English conditions.
