Quartararo Steals Pole Position in Thrilling Jerez Qualifying

Fabio Quartararo pulled off an incredible feat at the Spanish Grand Prix, claiming pole position for the Yamaha team in a nail-biting qualifying session. This victory marks Yamaha’s first pole in the premier class since the Mandalika race early in 2022.
The session started with championship leader Marc Marquez setting a blistering pace, lapping the Jerez circuit in a record-breaking time that put him a significant distance ahead of the pack. His younger brother, Alex Marquez, followed closely behind.
However, Quartararo wasn’t backing down. He pushed hard, shaving off precious milliseconds with each lap and ultimately snatching the pole position from Marquez by a mere 0.033 seconds.
Pecco Bagnaia, despite a crash in practice that left him with only one bike, managed a strong third place. Meanwhile, both Marquez brothers faced penalties for exiting pit lane when it was still closed, although they managed to avoid more serious consequences.
Maverick Vinales on the Tech3 KTM secured sixth place, leading the KTM charge. The top eight spots were dominated by Ducati riders, with Fermin Aldeguer and Fabio Di Giannantonio joining the party. Honda’s Joan Mir and Johann Zarco, along with Aprilia’s Marco Bezzecchi, rounded out the top ten.
Pedro Acosta, despite a valiant effort, struggled to put a lap together and could only manage 12th place.
The starting grid promises a thrilling race, with several riders eager to challenge for victory. Fabio Quartararo’s impressive performance suggests he’ll be a force to be reckoned with.
