IPL 2025 Playoffs to Feature Ahmedabad and Mullanpur

Cricket fans, get ready for an exciting IPL 2025 playoffs! The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the venues for the high-stakes matches, with a major shift in the final’s location.

The iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad will now host the IPL 2025 final on June 3rd. The stadium will also play host to Qualifier 2 on Sunday, June 1st. This comes as a change from the earlier plan, which had the Eden Gardens in Kolkata slated for the final.

Mullanpur to Host Crucial Qualifier 1 and Eliminator

Meanwhile, the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur will hold Qualifier 1 and Eliminator on May 29th and 30th respectively. This move marks a change from the initial plan which had Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium slated to host these matches.

The BCCI explained this decision, stating that the new venues were chosen based on weather conditions and other important factors by the IPL Governing Council.

Schedule Update and Playoffs Picture

The IPL 2025 season resumed on May 17th after a brief suspension due to heightened tensions between India and Pakistan. With the resumption, the BCCI has also made an adjustment to the playing conditions for the remaining league stage matches, adding an extra hour to each fixture.

As the league stages wind down, the Gujarat Titans, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), and Punjab Kings have secured their spots in the playoffs. The battle for the fourth spot is still underway, with the Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals vying for the coveted position.

If Mumbai Indians win their upcoming match against Delhi Capitals, they will secure a playoff berth. However, a Delhi Capitals victory will prolong the suspense.

RCB-SRH Fixture Changed to Lucknow

In another update, the match between RCB and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), initially scheduled for Bengaluru, has been shifted to the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow due to unfavorable weather conditions in Bengaluru.

This change affects RCB, who will now play their remaining two matches at the Ekana.
