Dushmantha Chameera’s Incredible Catch Steals the Show in DC vs. KKR

Chameera’s Stunner: A Catch for the Ages
The IPL 2025 is already heating up, and we’ve seen some incredible moments so far. But Sri Lankan pacer Dushmantha Chameera might have just delivered the catch of the season!
In a nail-biting encounter between Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders on Tuesday, Chameera pulled off an unbelievable grab that left everyone speechless.
It happened in the last over of KKR’s innings. Anukul Roy smashed a shot towards the boundary at backward square leg, and it looked like a certain four. But Chameera had other plans. He sprinted to his left, launched himself into the air, and snagged the ball with both hands just inches from the ground!
A Dramatic Finish
The crowd went wild, the commentators were in awe, and even Mitchell Starc, who bowled the delivery, couldn’t believe his eyes. The dismissal left Roy stunned, and Chameera was showered with hugs and high-fives from his teammates.
This incredible catch wasn’t the only highlight of the over. Earlier, Starc had dismissed Rovman Powell LBW with a yorker. And in the very next delivery, Andre Russell was run out for 17 off 9 balls. KKR lost three wickets for just one run in a dramatic four-ball sequence, collapsing from 203/6 to 204/9.
DC’s Victory
Despite an aggressive start from Rahmanullah Gurbaz (26 off 12) and Sunil Narine (27 off 16), KKR were ultimately restricted to 204/9 in 20 overs. Vipraj Nigam and Axar Patel delivered crucial blows in the middle overs, while Starc finished with 3/43, including nine runs in his final over.
Chameera’s breathtaking catch might just be the play of the game, a reminder that even one moment of brilliance can change the course of a match.
