Narendra Modi Stadium Receives Bomb Threat, Authorities on High Alert

Narendra Modi Stadium Targeted by Bomb Threat
The Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, was hit by a chilling bomb threat via email just days ahead of a crucial Indian Premier League (IPL) match. The threat, which originated from a sender claiming to be based in Pakistan, sent shockwaves through the city and prompted a swift response from authorities.
According to the Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA), the email contained a single, ominous message: ‘We will blast your stadium’. Signed ‘Pakistan JK’, the email immediately raised red flags given the high-profile nature of the upcoming match between the Gujarat Titans and the Lucknow Super Giants on May 14th.
Heightened Security Measures in Place
Authorities have assured the public that all necessary precautions are being taken to ensure the safety of both players and spectators. A team of high-ranking officials and a bomb disposal squad was immediately dispatched to the stadium to conduct thorough checks.
Police have significantly increased security measures around the stadium and launched an investigation to trace the source and authenticity of the threat. Following Operation Sindoor, a recent security operation in Gujarat, the state government, in collaboration with central agencies, has reinforced surveillance and preparedness measures across the state.
Key urban centers, including Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Surat, and Vadodara, are under heightened watch. Additional police and paramilitary forces have been deployed in sensitive areas. High-traffic public spaces like railway stations, airports, religious sites, and major stadiums are being patrolled diligently, and security checks have been intensified.
Intelligence units have been ordered to closely monitor digital communication channels and social media for any suspicious activity. Coordination between local police, the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), and bomb disposal squads has been strengthened, with rapid response teams prepared to act swiftly.
The government has also urged district administrations to remain alert and conduct mock drills to test emergency preparedness. Citizens have been advised to stay vigilant and report any unusual activity.
