Tragedy in Madhya Pradesh: Van Plunges into Well, Killing 12
Devastating Accident in Mandsaur
A horrifying accident in Madhya Pradesh’s Mandsaur district claimed the lives of 12 people on Sunday afternoon. A van, carrying passengers to Aantari Mata Temple in Neemuch’s Manasa, collided with a motorcycle, instantly killing the biker. Losing control, the van veered off the road and plunged into a deep well.
The impact of the crash resulted in the deaths of 10 passengers inside the van. Four others sustained serious injuries and were rushed to Mandsaur district hospital.
Local Hero, Tragic Loss
A local villager, who bravely attempted to rescue three passengers from the well, tragically lost his life after inhaling toxic fumes.
Rescue Efforts and Aftermath
A Special Disaster Emergency Response Force team was immediately deployed to the scene. They used a crane to carefully retrieve the submerged van from the well and pumped out several feet of water to ensure no one else was trapped.
Deputy CM Jagdish Devda, along with district collector Aditi Garg and SP Abhishek Anand, oversaw the rescue operations. The district collector announced that families of the deceased would receive Rs 2 lakh in compensation, and the injured would receive Rs 50,000 each.
