Supreme Court Wants High Courts to Draft Court Manager Appointment Guidelines

Supreme Court Calls for Clarity on Court Manager Appointments
The Supreme Court has asked High Courts across India to create their own rules for appointing court managers. A bench led by Chief Justice of India BR Gavai, along with Justices Augustine George Masih and K Vinod Chandran, emphasized the need for flexibility, encouraging High Courts to tailor the rules to the specific needs of their respective states.
The Court has set a three-month deadline for High Courts to finalize these rules and submit them to their respective state governments.
Existing Court Managers to be Regularized
The Supreme Court also issued a directive for the regularization of existing court managers. However, this regularization will be contingent upon them successfully passing a suitability test. This isn’t the first time the Court has issued such a direction; a similar mandate was given back in 2018.
