Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah isn’t holding back his criticism of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s response to the recent terror attack in Pahalgam. After Modi vowed to find and punish those responsible, Siddaramaiah pointed out that similar promises were made after the 2019 Pulwama attack, where 40 soldiers were killed.

Siddaramaiah questioned the effectiveness of these promises, reminding everyone that 27 people were killed in Pahalgam just weeks after Modi’s vow to wipe out terrorism.

The Chief Minister went even further, calling the Pahalgam attack a “central intelligence failure” and questioning the government’s preparedness and accountability. He also expressed skepticism about the outcome of the all-party meeting held in New Delhi, saying he couldn’t follow the discussions due to the large crowd.

The April 22nd attack in Pahalgam, which killed 26 people, mostly tourists, has sent shockwaves through India. It’s considered the deadliest attack in the Kashmir Valley since Pulwama.

Adding to the tension, Indian and Pakistani troops exchanged fire along the Line of Control, just days after the Pahalgam attack. The UN has urged both countries to exercise restraint, but relations between India and Pakistan remain strained. India accuses Pakistan of supporting terrorism in Kashmir, while Pakistan denies any involvement.
