Ranveer Allahbadia Cleared to Travel After India’s Got Talent Controversy

Ranveer Allahbadia Takes Off After Legal Turmoil
YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, known to his fans as BeerBiceps, is finally free to travel internationally. After months of legal battles stemming from the India’s Got Talent controversy, Ranveer has had his passport returned and has touched down in an undisclosed location.
Passport Returned, Ranveer Flies Out
The Supreme Court issued a ruling on Monday, directing the police to return Ranveer’s passport. This came after both the Assam and Maharashtra governments informed the court that their investigations into the case had concluded. Ranveer wasted no time celebrating his newfound freedom, sharing a photo of himself at the airport with a suitcase on Instagram. He captioned it simply, “Passport mil gaya guys (have got my passport back guys).”
A Long Road Back
Ranveer’s passport had been seized by police back in February following the controversy surrounding an episode of India’s Got Talent. In this episode, Ranveer made a remark deemed offensive by many, leading to widespread backlash and numerous FIRs filed against him and the show’s producers. He had initially surrendered his passport in response to a Supreme Court order that protected him from arrest.
The India’s Got Talent Flap
The controversy erupted when Ranveer asked a contestant on India’s Got Talent a question many found inappropriate and offensive. The question, “Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join in once to make it stop forever?” sparked outrage on social media and among politicians.
Ranveer subsequently issued an apology video on X, admitting that his comment was inappropriate and not funny. He also submitted a written apology to the National Commission for Women (NCW) for his offensive remarks.
Charges Still Pending
While the investigation into the case has concluded, charges against Ranveer and others involved are still pending. The solicitor general informed the Supreme Court that Ranveer is expected to continue cooperating with the probe until the filing of the charge sheet.
The Maharashtra and Assam governments have accused Ranveer and others of various offenses, including outraging the modesty of women, promoting hatred, and insulting religious beliefs.
