PM Modi’s Gujarat Visit: A Focus on Development and Urban Growth

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Gujarat on May 26th and 27th, marking a significant milestone for the state’s infrastructure and urban development. During his two-day trip, PM Modi will be inaugurating and laying the foundation stone for multiple projects worth a staggering Rs 77,400 crore.

Dahod: Railways and Economic Growth

On May 26th, PM Modi will travel to Dahod, where he will dedicate a newly built Locomotive manufacturing plant to the nation. This plant, a testament to India’s growing railway infrastructure, will produce 9000 HP electric locomotives for both domestic use and export. The Prime Minister will also flag off the first electric locomotive manufactured at the plant, highlighting the shift towards cleaner and more sustainable transportation.

In Dahod, PM Modi will also lay the foundation stone and inaugurate various development projects worth Rs 24,000 crore. These projects encompass rail projects and initiatives undertaken by the Gujarat government, further bolstering the region’s economic growth.

The Prime Minister’s visit to Dahod will also see the flag-off of the Vande Bharat Express between Veraval and Ahmedabad, and an Express train between Valsad and Dahod stations, signifying improved connectivity and enhanced travel options for the people of Gujarat.

Bhuj: Powering Up Gujarat

Later on May 26th, PM Modi will travel to Bhuj, where he will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate development projects worth over Rs 53,400 crore. These projects primarily focus on the power sector, with a significant emphasis on utilizing renewable energy.

The projects include transmission lines for evacuating power generated at the Khavda Renewable Energy Park, expansion of the transmission network, and construction of an Ultra super critical thermal power plant unit at Tapi. This underscores the government’s commitment to a sustainable and energy-secure future for Gujarat.

Beyond the power sector, PM Modi’s visit to Bhuj will also see the inauguration of projects related to the Kandla port, road, water, and solar initiatives by the Gujarat government.

Gandhinagar: Celebrating 20 Years of Urban Transformation

On May 27th, PM Modi will travel to Gandhinagar, where he will participate in the celebrations marking 20 years of the Urban Development Year 2005. This initiative, launched by PM Modi when he was the Chief Minister of Gujarat, aimed to transform the state’s urban landscape through planned infrastructure, improved governance, and enhanced quality of life for urban residents.

During his visit, PM Modi will launch Urban Development Year 2025, Gujarat’s ambitious urban development plan, and the State Clean Air Programme. The Prime Minister will also inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for various projects related to urban development, health, and water supply.

The visit will also see the dedication of over 22,000 dwelling units under the PMAY (Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana) and the release of Rs 3,300 crore to urban local bodies in Gujarat under the Swarnim Jayanti Mukhyamantri Shaheri Vikas Yojana, further strengthening urban infrastructure and housing.
