PM Modi Holds Emergency Security Meeting After Deadly Pahalgam Terror Attack

High-Level Security Meeting Following Pahalgam Terror Attack
Prime Minister Narendra Modi just wrapped up an important emergency security meeting at his residence. The meeting, which involved the Cabinet Committee on Political Affairs (CCPA), is the highest-level security body in the Indian government, often referred to as the ‘Super Cabinet.’ This comes after a series of meetings of the Cabinet Committee on Security following a horrific terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which tragically claimed 26 lives.
Ceasefire Violations Escalate Tension
The attack comes amidst ongoing tensions and ceasefire violations along the India-Pakistan border. Earlier this week, there were reports of unprovoked firing from Pakistan across the Line of Control in several areas, including Nowshera, Sunderbani, and Akhnoor. This marks the sixth consecutive day of such violations.
Pakistan Army Opens Fire
Just this morning, the Pakistan Army opened fire across the International Border in the Pargalwal sector of Jammu and Kashmir. This latest incident has further heightened concerns and prompted the urgent security meeting convened by the Prime Minister.
