Pakistan Rocked by Explosions

Pakistan is reeling after a series of explosions shook at least nine cities, including major urban centers like Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi. The Pakistani military has pointed the finger at India, claiming that 12 Heron drones were used in the attacks.

Army Claims Drone Neutralization, Heavy Damage

Lt. Gen. Ahmed Sharif, the Director General of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), made the bold accusation, stating that the drones targeted locations across the country. He also claimed that Pakistani Air Defence units, equipped with HQ-9 air defence missile launchers, suffered significant damage in the supposed drone attack. However, the Indian government has not yet commented on these claims.

Experts Suspect ‘False Flag’ Operation

Defence experts interviewed by Zee News have expressed skepticism about the Pakistani Army’s narrative. They believe this could be a ‘false flag’ operation – a deliberate attempt by Pakistan to create the impression of an Indian attack and stir up anti-India sentiment. This suspicion stems from the fact that Heron drones are primarily used for surveillance, not for carrying out attacks.

Pakistan Closes Airspace Amid Chaos

In response to the alleged drone strikes, Pakistan has closed its airspace, causing widespread disruption to flight operations. Passengers at various airports are facing delays and uncertainty as a result. The situation remains tense and volatile.

Series of Explosions, Investigations Underway

The blasts, which have reportedly been carried out using attack drones, have prompted authorities to advise residents to stay indoors. Security forces have cordoned off the affected areas and are conducting a thorough investigation. Police are examining metal fragments recovered from the scene to determine the nature of the explosives used. Rescue and law enforcement teams are on the ground, working to assess the damage and provide assistance.

Context: Recent India-Pakistan Standoff

These developments come just a day after India conducted ‘Operation Sindoor,’ a series of precision strikes targeting nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir. India claims that over 100 terrorists were killed in this operation. The Indian government has stated that it will not take any further action unless Pakistan provokes it.
