Pahalgam Attack: Tensions Rise as India-Pakistan Relations Strain
Pahalgam Attack Fuels Diplomatic Tensions
The aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack continues to reverberate, with tensions escalating between India and Pakistan. The situation has taken a particularly sharp turn as the deadline for Pakistani citizens on visas in India, excluding medical, diplomatic, and long-term holders, came to an end on Sunday (April 27, 2025). According to a senior Home Ministry official, almost all Pakistani nationals have left the country, although further verification is still underway.
Pakistan Seeks International Investigation
Pakistan has called for international involvement in investigating the Pahalgam attack, suggesting that Russia, China, or even Western nations could play a role. In an interview with Russian state-run media, Pakistani Defence Minister Khawaja Asif proposed the formation of an international investigation team to determine the truth behind the incident.
Kashmir Demolitions Spark Local Opposition
Meanwhile, in Kashmir, the ongoing demolition of houses belonging to terrorists has faced growing opposition from regional parties. On Sunday, security forces carried out controlled explosions to dismantle 10 buildings suspected of being linked to terrorist activities.
