Pahalgam Attack: Owaisi Condemns Violence, Draws Parallels to ISIS

Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir – In the wake of a deadly attack on tourists in Pahalgam, the Kashmir valley, political tensions have escalated.
Asaduddin Owaisi, the leader of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), strongly condemned the attack, drawing a sharp comparison between Pakistan and the terrorist group ISIS.
Owaisi condemned the reports that terrorists had targeted tourists based on their religion, asking, ‘Which religion are you talking about?’ He went on to label Pakistan as ‘worse than the Khawarij,’ a reference to a radical early Islamic sect, and asserted that the attack proved Pakistan was ‘the successor of ISIS.’
These remarks come amidst rising tensions between India and Pakistan following the attack. Pakistan has denied any involvement in the incident.
