Owaisi Holds Pakistan Responsible for Terrorism During Bahrain Visit

Asaduddin Owaisi, a Member of Parliament from the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), didn’t mince words during a recent trip to Bahrain. As part of an all-party delegation led by BJP MP Baijayant Panda, Owaisi emphasized that the global problem of terrorism originates from Pakistan.

“Unfortunately, we have lost so many innocent lives. This problem emanates from Pakistan only. Unless and until Pakistan stops promoting, aiding and sponsoring these terrorist groups, this problem won’t go away,” Owaisi stated. He further elaborated that the Indian government sent the delegation to Bahrain to highlight the persistent threat India has faced from Pakistan-based terrorism.

India’s Stance on Security and Pakistan’s Provocations

Owaisi underscored India’s firm stance on security, asserting that the government has taken all necessary steps to protect its citizens. He warned Pakistan that any future misadventures would face consequences far beyond their expectations. He cited the April 22 Pahalgam attack, where 26 tourists lost their lives, as a stark example of Pakistan’s provocations.

“Please reflect on the human tragedy of this massacre. A woman married six days ago became a widow on the seventh day. Another woman, married just two months ago, also lost her husband in this attack,” Owaisi poignantly remarked.

Highlighting India’s Defensive Capabilities

During his interaction in Bahrain, Owaisi confidently highlighted India’s robust defensive capabilities. “India has all the wherewithal, and we have every means necessary to ensure the safety of not only Indian citizens, but also every individual residing in India,” he assured. He praised the government, media, air defense system, technology, and warfare capabilities for successfully intercepting and neutralizing threats posed by Pakistan.

Call for International Cooperation Against Terrorism

Owaisi also advocated for international collaboration to combat terror financing and urged the Bahraini government to support reinstating Pakistan on the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) grey list.

“There is unanimity in our country, irrespective of whatever political affiliations we belong to. We have our political differences, but when it comes to the integrity of our country, it is high time our neighbouring country understands… I request and hope that the Bahrain government will help us in bringing Pakistan back to the grey list of FATF because this money has been used to support those terrorists,” he pleaded.

India’s Diplomatic Push Against Terrorism

This delegation, also comprising MPs Nishikant Dubey, Phangnon Konyak, Rekha Sharma, Satnam Singh Sandhu, Ghulam Nabi Azad, and Ambassador Harsh Shringla, aims to brief international partners on India’s response to the Pahalgam terror attack and its broader strategy against cross-border terrorism. They will engage with leaders in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Algeria as India seeks to counter global misinformation and emphasize its zero-tolerance policy on terrorism.
