Indian Army Conducts ‘Operation Sindoor’, Targeting Terror Camps in Pakistan and PoK
In a swift and decisive operation, the Indian Army has targeted nine terror hideouts belonging to banned organizations Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), and Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). This operation, codenamed ‘Operation Sindoor’, comes two weeks after the deadly Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives.
The Targets: A Mix of Locations in Pakistan and PoK
The Indian Army conducted raids on these terror camps under the cover of night. Four of the targeted locations were situated within Pakistan’s territory, while five were located in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
‘Operation Sindoor’: A Coordinated Effort
This operation was a coordinated effort involving the Army, Navy, and Air Force, all launching their strikes from within Indian territory. The Defence Ministry has emphasized that the operation was “focused, measured, and non-escalatory”. They also stressed that the strikes deliberately avoided any Pakistani military installations.
The List of Targeted Terror Hideouts
Here are the nine terror facilities that were targeted in the operation:
- Markaz Subhan Allah, Bahawalpur – JeM
- Markaz Taiba, Muridke – LeT
- Sarjal, Tehra Kalan – JeM
- Mehmoona Joya, Sialkot – HM
- Markaz Ahle Hadith, Barnala – LeT
- Markaz Abbas, Kotli – JeM
- Maskar Raheel Shahid, Kotli – HM
- Shawai Nalla Camp, Muzaffarabad – LeT

Sources suggest that the Pakistani Army and ISI have been using these camps for training terrorists and providing them with logistical support, in affiliation with the Special Services Group.
