No More Phone Fumbling at the Polls! Mobile Deposit Facility Coming Soon

Get ready to leave your phone worries behind at the polls! The Election Commission (EC) has announced a game-changer for upcoming elections: a mobile phone deposit facility outside polling stations.
Starting with the next round of by-elections expected in June, voters will be able to hand over their phones at designated spots near polling stations. This move aims to address the growing challenges faced by voters, especially senior citizens, women, and people with disabilities, who often struggle managing their phones on voting day.
Why the Change?
The EC recognizes the increasing reliance on mobile phones, both in urban and rural areas. The decision to implement this facility came after recognizing the difficulties voters face with managing their phones while maintaining the sanctity of the voting process.
Rules of the Road
The EC has made it clear that only mobile phones will be allowed within 100 meters of a polling station, and they must be switched off.
