New Addition to the Yadav Family: Lalu Names Grandson Iraj
A New Baby Boy for Tejashwi Yadav!
RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav has announced the name of his grandson, who was born to his son Tejashwi Yadav and his wife Rajshree on Tuesday. The baby boy has been named ‘Iraj Lalu Yadav’, a name chosen by Lalu and his wife Rabri Devi.
Meaningful Name, Auspicious Birth
Lalu explained the reason behind the name on X, stating that it was chosen in honor of the auspicious day of the birth. ‘Katyayani was born on Katyayani Ashtami, the 6th day of Navratri, and this little bundle of joy is born on Bajrang Bali Hanuman Ji’s Mangal day of Tuesday, therefore naming him ‘Iraj’.
This is the second child for Tejashwi and Rajshree, who welcomed their first child, a daughter named Katyayani, in March 2023.
West Bengal CM Extends Congratulation
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee visited Tejashwi and his family at the hospital in Kolkata on Tuesday. She expressed her joy and extended her best wishes to the family.
“Tejashwi’s family has received good news of their son. Lalu and Rabri are here, all very happy. I pray for abundant prosperity for the family. With elections coming up, I wish them good luck. This child has brought happiness to the family. His wife has been here for the last nine months, and we’ve been in constant touch,” she said.

Tejashwi Yadav shared a picture of his newborn son on X, captioning it, ‘Finally, the wait is over. Very happy to welcome a little baby into our home. Jai Hanuman.’
