A man in West Bengal is facing police investigation after he posted photos on Facebook showing himself with people he called his ‘Pakistani friends,’ all of them carrying what look like AK-47-style rifles.

The photos, which were shared as a Facebook story, were captioned ‘Pakistani bhaiya’ and immediately raised concerns, especially given the heightened security alert following the recent deadly terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.

The police sprang into action after screenshots of the photos went viral. They’ve registered a case at the Krishnagar Kotwali police station and are digging deep into the young man’s background. His Facebook profile is being carefully examined, and his parents are being questioned.

It seems the man had left his village three years ago to work in Qatar. He returned to India a year later but moved to Mumbai shortly after to get another job. According to police sources, he might have met these people during his time abroad.

Adding another layer to the story, the man’s parents told the police that he had left home about three years ago after eloping with a married Hindu woman. They haven’t had contact with him since.

While the investigation is ongoing, the police are looking into all angles and trying to trace the man as quickly as possible. This incident comes at a time when India-Pakistan relations are already strained following the Pahalgam terror attack.
