India’s Clever Trick: Decoy Jets Fool Pakistan in Massive Air Strike

India’s Air Strike on Pakistan: A Story of Deception and Precision
Days after India paused its Operation Sindoor against terrorist bases in Pakistan, details have emerged about the Indian Air Force’s impressive tactics in outsmarting Pakistan’s air defense systems. The Indian Air Force launched a surprise attack on May 9th and 10th, targeting 11 out of Pakistan’s 12 major airbases. This operation involved deploying a range of advanced weapons, including the BrahMos missile system, used for the first time in active combat.
The Decoy Plan: Tricking Pakistani Defenses
But before the actual strike, the IAF deployed a clever trick: dummy pilotless target aircraft. These decoys appeared on Pakistani radars just like legitimate fighter jets, prompting Pakistan to activate its defense network. This essentially gave away the location of Pakistan’s air defense systems to India.
The Indian forces then used this intel to target Pakistan’s air defense radars and command and control systems using loitering ammunition and Israeli-made Harop drones. This neutralized Pakistan’s defenses, paving the way for the main missile attack.
The Indian Offensive: Pinpoint Strikes and Strategic Measures
The Indian Air Force then launched a barrage of missiles, including BrahMos, Scalp, Rampage, and Crystal Maze missiles, striking the Pakistani airbases. While the operation aimed to disrupt Pakistan’s air capabilities, it wasn’t intended to completely destroy the airbases.
According to sources, the Pakistani Air Force was forced to move its aircraft to different bases following the strike. It’s also believed that Pakistan may have suffered significant losses, including long-endurance UAVs and an airborne early warning and control aircraft, during the attack.
Staying Within Borders: A Calculated Approach
Crucially, India maintained a strict adherence to its borders throughout the operation. Instead of crossing into Pakistani territory, India launched precision strikes from within its own borders, minimizing risk and avoiding escalation. This strategic decision showcased India’s military capabilities while demonstrating restraint.
