Pakistan PM Admits India’s Missile Strikes

In a surprising admission, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has confirmed that India’s ballistic missiles struck the Nur Khan Airbase and other locations in Pakistan on May 10. This acknowledgment marks a departure from Pakistan’s usual stance of denying Indian military action.

Sharif revealed the information during an address at the Pakistan Monument on Friday. He stated that Army Chief General Asim Munir informed him of the strikes around 2:30 am on May 10. While acknowledging the Indian missile strikes, Sharif also highlighted Pakistan’s Air Force response, emphasizing their use of locally developed technology and modern Chinese jets to defend the country.

BJP Leader Highlights Precision of Indian Strikes

BJP leader Amit Malviya seized on Sharif’s admission, pointing to the significance of the 2:30 am call from the Army Chief. He emphasized the scale, precision, and boldness of Operation Sindoor, India’s military response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.

Malviya’s X post stated: “Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif himself admits that General Asim Munir called him at 2:30am to inform him that India had bombed Nur Khan Air Base and several other locations. Let that sink in — the Prime Minister was woken up in the middle of the night with news of strikes deep inside Pakistan. This speaks volumes about the scale, precision, and boldness of #OperationSindoor.”

Background of the Conflict

Operation Sindoor was launched by India on May 7 as a direct response to the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, where 26 people were killed. The Indian Armed Forces targeted terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, resulting in the deaths of over 100 terrorists linked to groups like Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen. Pakistan retaliated with cross-border shelling and attempted drone attacks, prompting India’s retaliatory strikes on airbases and other military installations.

Ceasefire Following the Strikes

Following the intense military exchanges, an understanding for a cessation of hostilities between India and Pakistan was reached on May 10.
