India Delivers Precision Strikes on Terror Hubs in Pakistan

In a decisive counter-terror operation, India eliminated over 100 terrorists in Pakistan, including high-value targets linked to the IC-814 hijacking and the Pulwama attack. The operation, codenamed ‘Operation Sindoor,’ was launched in retaliation for the Pahalgam attack on April 22 which killed 26 civilians.

Targeted Attacks on Terror Launchpads

According to Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai, Indian forces carried out precision strikes on nine terror launchpads located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoJK). These camps, identified as breeding grounds for militants responsible for numerous attacks on Indian soil, included the headquarters of Jaish-e-Mohammed in Bahawalpur and a Lashkar-e-Taiba camp in Muridke.

High-Value Targets Eliminated

Among the terrorists killed were Yusuf Azhar, Abdul Malik Rauf, and Mudasir Ahmed, all prominent figures involved in the IC-814 hijacking and the Pulwama blast, a horrific suicide bombing that killed 40 CRPF personnel in 2019.

Emphasis on Precision and Minimizing Collateral Damage

DGMO Ghai emphasized the meticulous planning and execution of the operation, stating that “it involved a very diligent and microscopic scarring of the terror landscape.” He highlighted the stringent self-imposed restrictions to target only terrorists, ensuring minimal collateral damage.

Pakistan’s Reckless Response

Ghai denounced Pakistan’s response to the strikes, describing it as “erratic and rattled.” He pointed to the violation of the Line of Control (LoC) and the targeting of civilian areas, including villages and religious sites, resulting in casualties.

Ceasefire Proposal Violated

The operation comes just a day after Pakistan proposed a comprehensive ceasefire across land, air, and sea. However, this proposal was swiftly violated by Pakistan later that evening, revealing the façade of peace talks, according to Indian officials.
