India Says OIC Statement on Terror Attack is ‘Misguided’ and ‘At Pakistan’s Behest’

India Rejects OIC Statement on Pahalgam Attack
India has strongly rejected a statement by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) group in New York regarding the recent Pahalgam terror attack. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) called the statement ‘absurd and misguided,’ alleging that it was issued at the behest of Pakistan and interfered in India’s internal affairs.
MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal stated, ‘The OIC statement, issued at the behest of Pakistan, is absurd in refusing to recognize the facts of the Pahalgam terrorist attack and its cross-border linkages. This is yet another attempt by Pakistan, a country that has long engaged in cross-border terrorism, to manipulate and misguide the OIC Group to issue a self-serving statement. We reject the OIC’s interference on matters that are internal to India.’
OIC Expresses Concern Over South Asia Security
The OIC had voiced deep concern over the worsening security situation in South Asia, calling India’s allegations against Pakistan ‘unfounded.’ The attack in Pahalgam, which killed 26 people, has further strained relations between India and Pakistan.
However, the OIC also reaffirmed its stance against terrorism in all its forms, condemning attempts to link terrorism to any specific country, race, religion, culture, or nationality.
India and Pakistan have been locked in a long-standing conflict, with tensions escalating further after the Pahalgam attack. Pakistan has been accused of repeatedly violating the ceasefire agreement, leading to retaliation from the Indian Army.
