Missile Strikes Rock Indo-Pak Border After Kashmir Militant Attack

Missiles Cross Border in Heightened Indo-Pak Tensions
India launched missiles into Pakistani territory early Wednesday, marking a significant escalation in the long-standing conflict between the two nuclear-armed nations. Pakistani officials reported at least three missile strikes, resulting in the death of a child and injuries to two others in the city of Bahawalpur in Punjab province.
According to Pakistani security officials, one missile struck a mosque in Bahawalpur, causing the tragic loss of life and injuries. The officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity, also confirmed that Pakistan retaliated but did not provide details about the response.
India Claims Targeting Terror Infrastructure
India’s Defense Ministry issued a statement claiming that the strikes targeted at least nine sites in Pakistan-administered Kashmir and Punjab province. These sites, they assert, were used by militants to plan attacks against India.
“Our actions have been focused, measured and non-escalatory in nature. No Pakistan military facilities have been targeted,” the statement emphasized, adding that India exercised restraint in selecting targets and the method of execution.
