India Mobilizes Global Support Against Terrorism After Pahalgam Attack

India’s Global Outreach Against Terrorism
In a show of unity and strength, India is sending seven multi-party delegations to countries around the world to raise awareness about Pakistan’s alleged role in sponsoring terrorism following the recent Pahalgam terror attack.
Delegations to Highlight India’s Stance
The first delegation, led by Shiv Sena’s Shrikant Shinde, departed for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Wednesday. This group will also visit Liberia, Congo, and Sierra Leone. The delegations include members from various political parties, including the BJP, Shiv Sena, BJD, IUML, and representatives of the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) as well as opposition parties.
The Centre aims to present a united front on the issue of cross-border terrorism. Sources indicate that the delegations will carry dossiers containing evidence of Pakistan’s involvement in terrorism in India to convince host countries.
Foreign Secretary’s Message
Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri briefed the delegations on Monday, emphasizing India’s commitment to peace while firmly stating that it will not tolerate terror attacks on its soil and will retaliate. He highlighted Pakistan’s past behavior of ignoring evidence presented by India regarding previous terror attacks, such as 26/11 in Mumbai and the 2016 Pathankot attack.
Operation Sindoor Details
The Foreign Secretary also clarified that India’s actions under Operation Sindoor, which targeted terror sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), were not aimed at military installations or civilians. This message aims to counter Pakistan’s propaganda and clarify India’s position.
Congressional Outreach
The delegations will meet with government officials, legislators, think tanks, and the media to share India’s perspective on the Pahalgam attack and its consequences.
Two more delegations are scheduled to depart soon, one headed by DMK’s Kanimozhi to key European nations and another led by JD(U) MP Sanjay Kumar Jha to Southeast Asian countries. They will convey India’s message of ‘enough is enough’ regarding Pakistan’s alleged role in terrorism.
Broader Impact
This coordinated global outreach signifies India’s determination to isolate Pakistan on the international stage and garner support for its stance against cross-border terrorism.
