India Fires Back: Precision Strikes Target Pakistani Military Sites

India Responds to Pakistan’s Attacks with Precision Air Strikes
In a swift and decisive response to escalating tensions, the Indian Air Force (IAF) conducted precision air strikes on eight military sites in Pakistan early Saturday morning. The targets included radar units, ammunition dumps, and technical infrastructure, according to military officials who addressed a special briefing on Operation Sindoor.
These strikes come in the wake of Pakistan’s attacks on Indian military infrastructure and civilian areas using fighter jets, drones, and missiles, marking the fiercest clash between the two militaries since the beginning of Operation Sindoor on May 7th. The Pakistani forces targeted airbases in Punjab and medical centers and schools at three airbases in Jammu and Kashmir.
Targeting Military Infrastructure and Command Centers
Colonel Sofiya Qureshi, one of the officials who briefed the media, emphasized that the IAF conducted precise attacks only on identified military targets. These included command and control centers, radar sites, and weapon storage areas. The Indian military has maintained its commitment to minimizing collateral damage.
Escalating Hostilities and Pakistani Provocations
The escalating conflict began with Pakistani military forces carrying out aggressive actions along the western border, employing drones, long-range weapons, and fighter jets to target both civilian areas and military infrastructure. This included air intrusions using drones and heavy-caliber weapons fired along the Line of Control (LoC).
India’s Response and Countermeasures
India’s actions on Friday and Saturday were in direct response to these provocations. Following the repelling of Pakistani armed drone strikes at 26 locations across India, the IAF struck back at Pakistani air defense systems at four locations in Islamabad. The Indian Army successfully neutralized these threats, causing damage to some equipment and personnel at IAF stations.
On Saturday morning, Pakistani forces attempted to launch a swarm of attack drones towards Amritsar, but these were quickly detected and destroyed by the Indian Army’s air defense network.
Diplomatic Repercussions and International Concerns
Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri addressed the media alongside the two women officers, refuting Pakistan’s claims of destroying or damaging Indian military installations and infrastructure. He emphasized that India’s actions were in direct response to the escalating and provocative actions of Pakistan, which is engaged in a “wanton campaign” of targeting civilians.
The situation has raised international concerns about a potential full-blown war between the two nuclear-armed nations. Both sides have called for de-escalation, but the situation remains tense.
