India Cracks Down on Espionage: Two Pakistani Spies Arrested

Pakistani Spies Arrested in India
In a significant development, the Punjab Police arrested two Pakistani nationals on Monday for their alleged involvement in espionage activities. The accused are accused of being in contact with Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and leaking sensitive security information.
Connection to Pahalgam Attack
According to DIG Border Range Satinder Singh, the arrests come in the wake of a crackdown on espionage cases following the Pahalgam terror attack in April which claimed the lives of 26 people. Singh stated that the ISI activated the individuals after the attack and that they had been sharing information for the past 15-20 days.
Details of the Arrests
The two individuals, both aged between 19 and 20, hail from Gurdaspur. They are accused of leaking secret information about Indian security forces in the states of Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. Singh revealed that a sum of one lakh rupees was transferred to their accounts. The case has been registered under the Official Secrets Act at the Dorangala police station in Gurdaspur.
Other Recent Espionage Arrests
The arrests of these two individuals are part of a larger crackdown on espionage activities suspected to be linked to Pakistan. Recently, YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra was taken into custody on charges of espionage, and another suspected ISI operative was arrested in Rampur, Uttar Pradesh by the state’s Special Task Force (STF).
