A fierce gunbattle broke out between security forces and militants in the Kulnar Bazipora forest area of Bandipora district in northern Kashmir on Friday.

According to officials, the encounter began after security personnel received information about militants hiding in the area. When the forces moved in to search, the militants opened fire, leading to a fierce exchange of gunfire that is still ongoing.
