Elvish Yadav: Remembering a College Friend Lost in the Pahalgam Attack
YouTuber and Bigg Boss OTT 2 winner Elvish Yadav recently shared a heartbreaking story about a personal connection to the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. 26 people tragically lost their lives, including Indian Navy Lieutenant Vinay Narwal. Elvish learned that Vinay’s wife, Himanshi, was actually his college friend from Hansraj College.

Elvish revealed in an emotional vlog that he initially didn’t recognize Himanshi in interviews about the attack. But when he saw her again, he was shocked. They hadn’t spoken since he graduated in 2018, but he vividly remembered their time together in college. Overwhelmed by the tragedy, Elvish couldn’t bring himself to call Himanshi directly. Instead, he reached out to a mutual friend who finally connected with her after 31 attempts. Himanshi confirmed the horrifying details, saying the terrorists had asked about her husband’s religion before opening fire.

The newlyweds, who got married on April 16th, had planned a honeymoon in Switzerland but ended up in Kashmir due to visa issues. They were enjoying snacks at Baisaran, a popular tourist spot, when the attack happened. Lieutenant Vinay Narwal received a hero’s farewell in his hometown of Karnal, Haryana, with full military honors.

Elvish ended his vlog with a powerful message: ‘This could’ve happened to anyone. It’s terrifying. My prayers are with Himanshi and all those who have lost someone. We must not let ourselves become numb to this brutality.’
