Terrorists Cornered in Drone Footage Before Fatal Encounter
Chilling drone footage has emerged, capturing the tense moments before three terrorists affiliated with the Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) group were killed in a fierce gunfight with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Tral region. The video shows the terrorists, trapped by security personnel, seeking refuge in the basement of an unfinished building, clutching rifles as fear and desperation grip them.
The Encounter Unfolds
The deadly confrontation erupted in Nadir village, Pulwama district, when security forces initiated a cordon and search operation based on intelligence reports indicating the presence of terrorists in the area. As security personnel approached, the terrorists opened fire, sparking a full-blown gun battle.
Terrorists Identified
The three terrorists who lost their lives in the fierce encounter have been identified as Asif Ahmed Sheikh, Amir Nazir Wani, and Yawar Ahmad Bhat, all residents of Pulwama district in Jammu and Kashmir.
Recent Terrorist Activity in Kashmir
This encounter follows closely on the heels of another significant operation just two days prior, where security forces neutralized three Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists in Shopian district, South Kashmir. Two of these terrorists, Shahid Kuttay and Adnan Shafi, have been identified.
Kuttay, who joined the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba in 2023, was implicated in a shooting incident at a resort in April 2024, injuring two German tourists and their driver. He was also linked to the killing of a BJP sarpanch in May 2024. Following the Pahalgam terror attack last month, authorities demolished Kuttay’s house.
Shafi, who joined Lashkar-e-Taiba in 2024, was involved in the killing of a migrant laborer in Shopian.
Heightened Security Measures
The Pahalgam attack, which claimed the lives of 26 people, has prompted heightened security measures across the region. A multi-team operation is currently underway to apprehend the Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists responsible for the massacre in Baisaran Valley, an event that triggered armed hostilities between India and Pakistan.
