The Delhi Police is preparing to ask around 5,000 Pakistani nationals living in the capital to return home. This comes after the Indian government, in response to a recent terrorist attack in Kashmir, revoked the visas of most Pakistanis except for those with medical, diplomatic, or long-term visas.

The Intelligence Bureau (IB) has provided the Delhi Police with a list of these individuals, which includes both those with long-term visas and those who may be overstaying their welcome.

While the government has clarified that long-term visas granted to Hindu Pakistani nationals will remain valid, the Delhi Police is working to verify the list and ensure that all Pakistani nationals on it are aware of the new visa rules.

The police have been instructed to take immediate action and are focusing on areas with a high concentration of Pakistani residents, such as the Majnu Ka Tila and Signature Bridge areas. Senior officers are closely monitoring the situation.

This move comes after India heightened security measures following the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, which has strained relations between the two countries. Officials are urging Pakistani nationals to leave India voluntarily before any further action is taken.
