Bomb Threat on IndiGo Flight to Bengaluru: Canadian Passenger Detained

A scary situation unfolded at Varanasi airport on Saturday night when a passenger on an IndiGo flight headed to Bengaluru claimed to have a bomb. The passenger, who is a Canadian citizen, was quickly detained by police.

The airport went into lockdown mode as everyone took the threat seriously. The flight was moved to a secure area for a thorough inspection. Thankfully, no explosives were found.

Airport director Puneet Gupta said the IndiGo crew did the right thing by immediately alerting air traffic control. The plane was grounded until security agencies gave the all-clear, which they eventually did. The flight was able to take off for Bengaluru on Sunday morning. The detained passenger is now being questioned by authorities to figure out what happened.
