Bank Holidays: Your Money Matters Won’t Be Affected This Weekend!

Bank Holidays This Weekend: April 29th to May 1st
Heads up, everyone! Banks across India will be closed for three days straight, from April 29th to May 1st. That means you won’t be able to visit your local branch during this time.
But don’t worry, you can still manage your money using online banking or ATMs. Those will be open as usual.
Why the Bank Holiday?
These holidays are for some important religious and cultural celebrations:
- April 29th: Bhagvan Shri Parshuram Jayanti – A day to honor Lord Parshuram, the sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu.
- April 30th: Basava Jayanti (mostly in Karnataka) – Celebrating the birth of Basavanna, a 12th-century philosopher who championed social reforms and equality. Also Akshaya Tritya, a day associated with prosperity and good luck. It’s a popular time to make investments!
- May 1st: Maharashtra Day and International Labour Day – A day to celebrate the formation of Maharashtra state and to recognize the rights of workers worldwide.
Keep in Mind
Remember, bank holidays can vary from state to state. It’s always a good idea to check with your specific bank or the Reserve Bank of India website to confirm the holiday schedule in your area.
Be aware that banks are also usually closed on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month.
