Naidu Proposes Sub-Groups for GDP Growth, Population Management, and AI Adoption

At the recent 10th NITI Aayog Governing Council meeting, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu unveiled a three-pronged vision for India’s future. He proposed the formation of dedicated sub-groups to focus on key areas: boosting GDP growth, effectively managing India’s population, and leveraging the power of artificial intelligence (AI) for governance.

Naidu, whose Telugu Desam Party (TDP) is a BJP ally both at the national and state levels, emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts between states and the Centre. The sub-groups, he suggested, would work closely with NITI Aayog to translate his vision into concrete action.

Boosting Economic Growth

The first sub-group would be tasked with igniting economic growth by attracting investments, fostering manufacturing, boosting exports, and creating more jobs. Naidu highlighted the need for central support in the form of viability gap funding for public-private partnership (PPP) projects.

Navigating Demographic Challenges

The second sub-group would focus on India’s rapidly changing demographics. It would aim to harness the benefits of a young population while preparing for future challenges like an aging society and declining fertility rates.

AI for Citizen-Centric Governance

The third sub-group would champion technology-driven governance. Naidu envisions utilizing AI, quantum computing, drones, and digital platforms to create a more efficient and citizen-centric administration. Real-time data and citizen feedback would be at the core of this approach.

Naidu emphasized that Andhra Pradesh, with its ‘Swarna Andhra @2047’ vision, offers a replicable model for national development. He pledged his state’s commitment to leading by example, demonstrating how strong state leadership can drive national transformation.

In addition to his proposals for sub-groups, Naidu also commended the Indian government’s recent accomplishments, including economic reforms like Digital India, GST, Startup India, PM Gati Shakti, and Jal Jeevan Mission. He praised these initiatives for reshaping India’s development landscape.

He further highlighted India’s growing global influence, citing Operation Sindoor as a testament to its strengthened military capabilities. Naidu believes that strong leadership is crucial for guiding India towards its ambitious goals.

Andhra Pradesh, under Naidu’s leadership, is actively working towards achieving ‘Zero Poverty’ by 2029 through its innovative P4 model, which focuses on a collaborative approach involving government, private sector, and citizens to uplift vulnerable families and promote economic growth. The state’s Family Benefit Management System ensures transparency and inclusivity in the delivery of welfare benefits. The ‘One Family, One Entrepreneur’ initiative aims to foster entrepreneurship and skill development, creating more job opportunities at the grassroots level.

Driving Technological Advancement

Naidu highlighted Andhra Pradesh’s commitment to driving technological progress. The state has established hubs like Quantum Valley in Amaravati, Drone City in Orvakal, and biomedical manufacturing in Visakhapatnam. The state also supports startups and job creation through AI-powered governance and the Ratan Tata Innovation Hub.
