Good News for Salaried Employees: EPF Interest Rate Remains at 8.25% for FY 2024-25

The Centre has given the thumbs-up to an 8.25 percent interest rate on Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) deposits for the financial year 2024-25. This means over 7 crore salaried employees across India can expect a steady return on their savings.
Positive News for EPF Holders
This rate was actually recommended earlier this year by the Central Board of Trustees of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO). The good news is that it stays the same as the previous fiscal year (2023-24), offering consistent returns for EPF members. It’s a bit of a jump from the 8.15 percent interest rate offered in 2022-23.
Efficiency Boost for EPFO
Apart from the interest rate, the EPFO has been making strides in streamlining operations. They’ve reached a record-breaking number of 2.16 crore auto-claims settlements as of March 6, 2025, in the last financial year. That’s a significant leap from 89.52 lakh settlements in 2023-24, showing the organization’s commitment to making claim processing faster and more efficient for its members.
