Gold Takes a Small Dip in Chennai

Chennai, May 20, 2025 – Gold prices in Chennai experienced a slight dip on Tuesday, with a sovereign now costing Rs 69,680, down Rs 360 from the previous day.
A gram of gold currently retails for Rs 8,710.
Recent Fluctuations in Gold Prices
The price of gold has been on a rollercoaster ride in recent months. In February, it saw a jump from Rs 63,240 per sovereign to Rs 64,000, only to drop back down to Rs 63,520 by February 12th. Then, on March 14th, it surged to Rs 66,400, marking a significant increase.
Gold prices continued their volatile trend, peaking at an all-time high of Rs 74,320 per sovereign on April 22nd.
Silver Prices Also Decline
Meanwhile, the price of silver has also decreased, dropping by Re 1 to Rs 108 per gram.
